  • What is the Charm City Circulator All About?

The backbone of any great city is transportation. That’s why we’re introducing the Charm City Circulator (CCC), a fleet of 21 free shuttles that travel three routes in Baltimore City.

We service residents, downtown employees, students and tourists and anyone else who wishes to ride. The shuttle is intended to reduce congestion and greenhouse gas pollution by offering a convenient, reliable and eco-friendly form of public transportation.

The CCC consists of three separate routes—the Green Route which runs from City Hall to Fells Point to Johns Hopkins, the Purple Route which runs from Penn Station to Federal Hill,  and the Orange Route which runs from Hollins Market to Harbor East.

We’re not only dedicated to offering a stellar form of public transportation that links critical parts of the city—we are interested in doing it in the cleanest way possible. That’s why we’ve chosen 21 DesignLine 2009 EcoSaver IV LF Hybrid Electric vehicles—the first fleet of this type in a major metropolitan area. The Charm City Circulator is one part of Mayor Dixon’s vision of a “cleaner, greener Baltimore.”

We encourage all of our residents and visitors to use this service—not only is it free, it’s efficient. A shuttle arrives every 10 minutes at the designated stops on each route.

Use it as your connector to your regular train, bus or commuter lot—or just to get a taste of all Baltimore City has to offer.

Service Updates current status for Orange Route: on-time

On January 11, 2009, the Charm City Circulator will begin service to downtown Baltimore. The Orange Route will operate with stops between Hollins Market through Harbor East.

  • May 9, 2007

    Dear Reader,

On May 18, 2007 six members of the African Diaspora Medical Project (ADMProject), including 4 student research assistants, will travel to Yaounde, Cameroon for 10 days to assist an organization there - the Sainté Trinité Foundation - in their efforts to care for orphans affected by AIDS.
    Travel Objectives

As you may know, the care of children in sub-Sahara Africa orphaned by the deaths of their parents from AIDS has presented a significant challenge to communities that do not have the resources to meet many of their specialized needs. The ADMProject will collaborate with them in their efforts to increase their capacity and ability to care for these displaced children. On this trip we hope to accomplish two broad objectives:

    1.   Complete a site and needs assessment and begin the planning of the Project concept and design.

    2.    Document and record conditions that will support our efforts to illuminate the problem affecting many communities in sub-Sahara Africa and generate a positive response from donors in the form of funding for the Project.

In addition, we will donate school supplies and clothing, and we would like to make a cash contribution that will help meet the day-to-day needs of the children.

    How you can help

The ADMProject is accepting donations of school supplies (small items - pens, pencils, markers, rulers, erasers, etc) and clothing (new or excellent condition used, ages 2 - 16 years, boy/girl). These  Cash donations are also greatly needed and appreciated and can be donated on-line through our website, www.admproject.org. All contributions are tax-deductible.

I hope that you will consider supporting our effort. Help us help others help themselves. The ADMProject and the children of Yaounde thank you for considering them as beneficiaries of your charitable spirit.

    Sincerely,

    Lenox S. Dingle, Jr., M.D.

  • As you may already have known, I have involved myself with videography of current and interesting cultural arts events in the City of Baltimore.  I am a media contractor for the African Diaspora Medical Project,
    lsuit@bmcon.orglsuit@bmcon.org for more informationlsuit@bmcon.org
    www.ADMProject.org, headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland.

The purpose of the event will be to support the AIDS Orphan Initiative, to plan a HIV/AIDS Orphan Village and travel for a project evaluation trip to Yaounde, Cameroon, West Africa, by ADMProject Interns, students of Johns Hopkins University, and the operations representatives of the ADMProject.

    From
www.ADMProject.org other projects of ADMProject are:
    ·       Hands to Hands – Building a network by which resources are collected from hospitals, companies, and other organizations for the purpose of supplying Africans with the materials necessary for good health care.  This project works on the procurement, storage, inventory, shipment, and successful delivery of these materials.
    ·       Request For Assistance RFA – Projects are undertaken by a team of specialists and technical assistance providers who will work with health professionals, community members, businesses, institutions, and other entities to respond to health care problems by conducting extensive, in-depth investigations and analyses and following through with planned action.
    ·       HIV/AIDS Orphan Initiative – Currently developing a prototype Orphan Village with housing, school, health clinic, and community center.  The village will house, educate, and provide medical care to as many children as possible.

The ADMProject is a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable healthcare in Africa and its Diaspora.  The ADMProject is a nongovernmental organization that will identify and/or develop health-related projects that can be supported with technical, personnel and materiel assistance. These projects will be implemented in response to, and in collaboration with, our medical colleagues throughout Africa and the Diaspora.

I hope you can do another offer of help by credit card charging a donation on www.ADMProject.org.    I can be at your office to leave further information and can come back to sell tickets you and your associates may want.

    Hi!
